The locations below are optional suggestions that have been carefully chosen for beautiful light, easy parking, and family friendly walking paths. If you have  a special location in mind, i'm always happy to accommodate.

Whether it's your home, backyard, favorite park, or another meaningful place where your family spends time together, I'll be there to capture your family in a setting that feels personal and true to you.

Travel within  30 miles of maple grove is included with your session.

Outdoor Family  locations 

Elm Creek Park Reserve

Best for: Families who want variety

Available: May through early November

Elm Creek is my most requested location because it offers so much in one session.

Depending on the season you’ll find:

• Tall golden prairie grass
• Beautiful green meadows
• Wooded trails
• Colorful fall leaves
• Natural paths perfect for little ones

If you can’t decide where to go, this is usually my first recommendation. It’s spacious, quiet, and gives us several different looks without driving anywhere else. 

Maple Grove Arboretum

Best for: Classic family portraits and vibrant fall colors

Available: May through October

The Arboretum feels peaceful and intimate.

You’ll find:

• Flower gardens in late spring
• Beautiful green trees throughout summer
• Gorgeous red, orange, and yellow leaves in fall
• Quiet walking paths
• Beautiful bridges and natural scenery

This location is especially beautiful for families with babies because everything is close together and easy to walk. 

Fish Lake Regional Park

Best for: Beachy, playful summer sessions

Available: June through September

If you love water and relaxed family moments, Fish Lake is perfect.

Expect:

• Beautiful lake views
• Sandy beach
• Tall trees
• Sunset reflections on the water
• Room for kids to explore

This is one of my favorite locations for families who want a relaxed, carefree feel. Dogs are welcome too.

French Regional Park

Best for: Lakeside sunsets and large trees

Available: May through October

Located just minutes from Plymouth and Hopkins, this park offers:

• Beautiful mature trees
• Walking trails
• Lake views
• Green grass
• Gorgeous sunset light

Perfect if you’re coming from the west metro and don’t want to drive as far north.
